We’re excited to announce the launch of our brand new Woodland Adventure for Primary & Prep Schools, next to the West Midlands Safari Park near Bewdley.
It's an adventure like no other, with your own exclusive Tipi Camp in a private woodland, offering an authentic outdoor adventure with a range of forest activities and all the comforts you need for younger groups. With no other groups on site, this is an adventure just for your school allowing you a genuine opportunity to bring your class together for team building and the best childhood experience ever- a proper adventure in the woods!
This unique woodland adventure includes bushcraft activities such as fire lighting, shelter building and camp crafts, climbing, target sports, an adventure blind trail, forest orienteering and giant initiative. Evenings are spent cooking marshmallows on the campfire and enjoying a range of activities and games. You will also enjoy either a full day or half a day at the West Midlands Safari Park (depending on whether you choose a 2 or 4 night programme) with an education programme on offer as well as the chance to meet the animals and enjoy the theme park.
An exciting part of this adventure residential is the chance to sleep in a Tipi! Your class will have your own private Tipi Village (with no other groups on site) which has four giant tipis for the children and private tipi accommodation for teachers (with proper beds). Close to the tipis is a toilet and shower block, with private facilities for adults. The camp accommodates from 35 to 56 people and you can choose to stay for 2 or 4 nights. Some schools choose to do split weeks which works really well for larger primary schools and keeps the price down too.
Want to find out more? Why not come and see the Tipi Village for yourself, or invite one of our friendly team to come and visit you at your school to help you plan your next adventure? Call us on 01384 398 870 to arrange your visit.
Making full use of the forest environment, this adventure in the woods is designed specifically for KS2 and prep school groups and particularly appeals to Forest Schools and those keen to offer their pupils this kind of experience.
It's becoming widely appreciated that the forest is the one of the best environments for children to learn, be inspired and really be at one with nature. Our aim is for your pupils to have fun and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a woodland or natural environment with trees.
Activities include: A range of bushcraft activities from fire lighting to shelter building, an adventure blind trail, climbing, cycling, mission impossible, target sports (including archery and catapults), forest orienteering, giant initiative as well as camp crafts and cooking marshmellows around the campfire in the evenings.
Your class will also enjoy a full day or half a day at the West Midlands Safari Park where educational activities will be provided as well as a chance to meet the animals and enjoy the rides.
The following is a sample 5-day itinerary and can be adapted to suit your specific needs. There are 2 or 4 night options including Mon-Fri, Mon-Wed, Wed-Fri. Also, weekend stays by special arrangement.
4-night programme (Monday-Friday)
What could be more exciting for children than to sleep in a real life Tipi in the woods? This forest adventure is all about connecting children with nature and we can't think of any better way than sleeping under the stars in a real life Tipi, in a Tipi Village, with all of their friends.
This unique adventure offers your schol exclusivity of the whole camp making this the perfect residential for schools seeking a personal experience; a proper adventure (but with all the comfort you need to make it enjoyable for all).
Our brand new Tipi Village in the Wyre Forest opened this summer and is set on a private camp in the woodland next to the West Midlands Safari Park (we are told you might even get to hear the lions roar at night!). Accommodating up to 56 people, there are five giant tipis and three smaller tipis for Party Leaders. Separately we have staff tents close by and fixed toilet and shower facilities, which include private Party Leader toilets and individual lockable shower cubicles.
There is a sheltered area for dining, with fire pit, offering an authentic camping experience and allowing for all weather dining! The village has an earthy, natural feel with tipis surrounded by woodland and timber buildings. Each tipi has proper flooring and comfortable floor mats for children. Party Leader tipis have raised beds.
This is our first Woodland Adventure in the UK, with plans in place to open more. Our aim is to make the camping outdoor adventure experience more accessible and appealing to primary aged groups by offering comfortable Tipi accommodation, fixed onsite facilities, a mature and experienced staff team to work with the group, exclusive accommodation for primary schools and an activity programme tailored to suit younger children. This location was chosen due to its close proximity to the much loved West Midlands Safari Park, which is included in the programme and we loved the fact that you can hear the animals at night!
Meals will be served in the sheltered dining area, in the heart of the Tipi Village, by our catering team. With years of experience in catering for young people, all meals will be child friendly and healthy, wholesome food. One night will involve the children preparing and cooking their own meal as part of the bushcraft safari experience and there will be regular campfire nights and opportunities to toast marshmellows. Our staff will dine with the children each night and put on evening activities. We like to get to know our groups and the small nature of this camp gives full opportunity for staff to engage with pupils and teachers, ensuring the best possible experience for the whole group.
