Our flagship Ardeche centre offers schools and groups a relaxed environment from which to enjoy an action-packed adventure programme. Surrounded by rivers and trees, this idyllic location really captures the essence of the Ardeche region and with most activities within walking distance, there is minimal time spent on the coach during your stay.

Our private, well-established centre is exclusive to Acorn customers and you will be accommodated in your own private tented village with pre-erected tents laid out in a horseshoe shape, with central marquee for dining. The village environment offers groups their own space for sleeping and dining, with a central area for games. Pupil tents have four raised beds with mattresses, hard flooring and are standing height. Teacher tents sleep two and have two raised timber beds, electricity, lighting, a fridge in the main leader tent and a wardrobe.  Tea and coffee making facilities are readily available.

Teachers have their own private toilet and shower block and there are two others for the rest of the group to use, within easy reach of the village and fully lit at night.

If you wish us to organise your excursion, then please speak to your Tour Organiser prior to your departure. The date of the excursion will be confirmed and also the payment method. Some excursions can be paid to Acorn prior to travel however some require payment to be made locally Acorn will provide a member of staff to accompany your excursion upon request to offer a supporting role for party leaders.

The party leader will have responsibility for the group whilst off site. The Acorn staff member will have no supervisory responsibility during the excursion, which will be maintained by the Party Leader throughout. Information and opening hours are subject to change. Approximately 30 minutes walk (or 5 minute coach drive) from the centre is the historic local town of Ruoms. Here you can find an array of small shops, a cash-point and some bars and restaurants. The local market is on a Friday, which is a popular with locals and tourists. Just outside Ruoms there is large supermarket.

Vallon Pont d’Arc

Famous for its naturally shaped arched bridge, Vallon Pont d’Arc is in the hub of the Ardèche. With narrow streets, boutiques, cafes and a weekly market, there is plenty to see and do.

Distance from centre: 9 miles

Orgnac Caves

A visit to the caves is a spectacular experience. The route covers 500 metres, part of it a staircase leading down 120 metres! Along the way you will be able to admire, in total safety, nature's imposing chambers. A world where multitudes of crystallisations combine, delicate with the gigantic. The museum gives a good idea of everyday life of pre-historic man including tools, cave paintings, pottery, metal working and agriculture.

Group rates: Please speak to your Tour Organiser about current group prices
Distance from centre: 25 miles (30-40 minutes from Vallon)
