Acorn Adventure is a founder member of the School Travel Forum (STF) and a Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge (LOtC) and Adventuremark holder. Our substantial bonds with the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) and the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA ATOL) demonstrate our strength and stability, and this guarantees our customers’ financial security.
We are proud to set our safety standards at the highest level and we never compromise. Due to our stringent standards of safety, we seek accreditations through the British Canoe Union (BCU), Royal Yachting Association (RYA), The Adventure Activities Licensing Service (AALS) for those centres where activities fall within the remit of the Adventure Activities Licensing Regulations , The School Travel Forum (STF), Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC) and Adventuremark. We have carefully selected these accreditations because they are the most recognised and reputable in the industry. All of our camps are regularly assessed by qualified external auditors, as well as our own internal Technical Advisors, ensuring we are always working to the highest safety standards. The vast majority of Local Authorities have already pre-approved our trips because of our standards and accreditations.
Acorn has consistently been at the forefront of driving up safety awareness and standards in the school and group travel industry. We are a founder member of the School Travel Forum (STF), dedicated to promoting best practice and safety in school travel. All Full Members of the STF adhere to a rigorous Code of Practice and Safety Management Standards that are externally verified each year by leading Health and Safety Consultants. All our procedures are in line with the DfES guide ‘Health and Safety of Pupils on Educational Visits’ (HASPEV) and our Health and Safety policy covers all aspects of safety on your trip. Our Safety Management System has been developed, following Health & Safety Executive guidelines.
